The First Step to Breaking 20: Three Tips for Scoring a Hole-in-One

2026-07-051 min readWritten & supervised by Guragoru Prince

A hole-in-one is essential for breaking a score of 20. Here are three tips that Guragoru Prince uses in his own play.

Tip 1: Stand Slightly Wider Than Shoulder Width

A stable shot starts with a stable stance. Open your feet slightly wider than shoulder width and keep the ball centered with your body.

Tip 2: Learn Distance by Counting Steps

Make it a habit to check the distance from the start to the hole post by counting your steps. This makes it much easier to adjust your swing.

Tip 3: Read the Grass

The direction and slope of the grass greatly change how the ball rolls. Observe the course carefully before you play.

Record every round with the Guragoru app and you will start to see your strengths and weaknesses. Aim to break 20 with recording and analysis!
